GNU General Public License (GPL), version 3 or later

Under the GPL you may use, change and pass on AutoFileSync free of charge. Whoever passes on the program, or programs built on it, must include the source code under the same licence. The complete text is in LICENSE in the licenses directory next to the program, on macOS in the application bundle under Contents/Resources/licenses, on Linux under /usr/share/doc/autofilesync. The source code of AutoFileSync is at welsch-software.com; bugs are reported and contributions submitted there as well.

Third-party components

AutoFileSync uses libraries by other authors, whose licences are included in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md with their texts in the third-party directory:

The language model of the chat assistant is downloaded separately and has a licence of its own; the models from 7B up are under the Apache License 2.0, the 3B model under the Qwen Research License, which does not allow commercial use. The setup script names the licence before downloading.
